My Story

My Story

In 2017 a very special horse showed me that force is not something I would want to train with. I began to educate myself on positive reinforcement, discovered Intrinzen and started a long journey that would lead me to meet a lot of awesome people and horses. Training with all these different horses has given me so many experiences and insights on different issues and training behaviours, but more importantly it showed me that I will never stop learning. I realised that expertise is not the goal to become a good coach, but empathy and experience with handling unique situations.
How I train

How I train

I strive to look at the horse as a whole: My training is built on movement and motivation science, with the use of positive reinforcement and other force-free methods. But assessing the horse's whole situation and environment is crucial, because every individual is different. If you train with me, we will work on refining force-free everyday communication, master the art of variability and movement purpose, while diving deep into problem solving of how your horse's lifestyle may affect them. Not to forget, we play and explore the outdoors, and use that to build a healthy, confident horse. Consent-based riding is my specialty, if you are up for that! My main goal is for you and your horse to have fun and build a strong relationship with the help of force-free tools, while I also understand and respect your decisions if you cannot switch 100%. I believe you can do it too!
Kvix

Kvix

This lovely Icelandic mare is my second horsey life companion. She ended up with me due to unforeseen circumstances, but I am forever grateful to have her with me. She is the most brave and opinionated pony I know. She knows what she wants and will let everyone know. Truly teaching everyone how to stand up for themselves and that you can adventure on your own. Her confidence and determination has taught me endless valuable lessons already and I hope she will continue to do so until she turns completely grey.
Soraia

Soraia

Soraia, aka Suri, is the newest addition to my herd. She is a Lusitano mare with a lot of unknown history. She is very curious and loves people despite everything she has experienced. With her hidden trauma she needs a lot of patience and counter-conditioning that we work through at her own pace. At some point I may introduce her to riding as well, but for now she gets to explore her new home though life with the herd on a track system, play and adventurous walks.

This goofy boy accompanied me for nearly 2 years when I was living in Aotearoa New Zealand. It's a place I will miss forever for its nature, the friends that I had to leave behind and my soul horse. A part of me will never be whole without him, but I am eternally grateful that one of my best friends is taking care of him, making sure he continues to live his best life.
